This Day in Jewish History

Harry Houdini was a Hungarian - American illusionist and stunt performer, noted for his sensational escape acts.

He first attracted notice as "Harry Handcuff Houdini" on a tour of Europe, where he challenged police forces to keep him locked up.

On August 6, 1926, master illusionist Harry Houdini performed his greatest feat, spending 91 minutes underwater in a sealed tank before escaping.
